I was at work when this asshole in a SUV backed right into my car, scratching my paint, cracking my lic plate cover, and now there's a gap between my bumper and my fender.

I confronted him and he said he was going to pull around the corner because he "didn't want to block traffic". I was trying to stop him, but he drove off. Here's the info I have:

White 1999 Ford SUV
Licence Plate # 4JIV954
Caucasian male in his 30-40's

This happened in front of 2925 Geary Ave in San Francisco at 4:50pm on 7/6/03.

I went to file a police report but the cops said there is little they can do

Any help is appreciated to find this asshat - phone number, address, etc..

BULLSHIT! If you have the car/license plate number, the cops can get him. Hit and run is a felony. Go back and tell them to do their job.

 

Go back to the police dept and claim you where injured in the hit and run then it becomes a felony. You can only do this if you have not filed a report. Felony has more weight for the police to chase this scum bag down then a simple property damage non injury collision.

that ****in sucks... i heard that sfpd sucks and shiet tho. But a hit and run isn't that like a felony and shiet tho...i dunno. but the best thing i would recommend you doing is calling your insurance company, they can look the guy up and everything since you have his license plate number. I have aaa and when someone did that to me all i had was the plate number and they tracked him down. I hope everything works out for the best.

 

I suggest going to the CHP then, Make sure you tell them you where hurt, Hit and run with no injury is not worth a police depts time to chase down this dirt bag. You can only do this is you have not filed a report with the first PD

 

and filing a fraudulent claim isn't gonna bring him any trouble.
