Don't read anything by Faulkner, his stuff is way too confusing...or I'm not smart enough to understand it (I'm an engineer, literature is not my strong point).

I though Dandelion Wine was a good summertime read. 1984 is excellent. I liked Animal Farm too.

If you want a real challenge though, try reading the Bible from beginning to end.
