They tried that but it cuts back on the profit for the oil companies.

Ethanol is also a little on the expensive side to produce in mass quantities.

because our engines were designed for it? and it would eat away at some hoses or something like that?

ethanol is more efficient, cleaner, and more powerful.

btw, i believe most fuels already contain like 15+% of it...but the petroleum companies are totally screwing us by not letting ethanol get big. you can make the stuff, its basically unlimited in terms of supply...not like shitty oil.

I agree I think it should be more available for use. I believe it is more volatile than gasoline though and burns hotter than gasoline does as well.

we has a lil presentation for our students about diesel engines running on a small percentage of cooking oil. they brought an old VW in that was running on it, the exhaust smelled like fries

so does hydrogen...and hydrogen owns ethanol in terms of that.

if companies were really determined it wouldn't be a problem

dont you think when people stopped burnign wood in favor of gasoline they would have said "that is more volatile!"

I've also wondered why an internal combustion engine could not be designed to burn hydrogen? The stuff is absolutley limitless and very powerful.
