I would say it's more sway, less jolt because of the lesser amount of fault lines the east coast area has. Therefore, less faults means less seismic wave reflection resulting in sways and longer distance of movement.

Exactly. That's what they said as well. Less fault lines.

We've had some saying earthquakes, though. 1988 I was studying for a final at a donut shop before school. After running outside, the ground I stood on shifted 2 feet from side to side. It was slow and amazingly smooth. Surreal.

'94 earthquake changed our DNA.

holla! Felt that shit in Brooklyn. I was standing on a ladder painting, on the 4th floor. I was like; "Was that an earthquake? .....Nah, prolly a suicide bombing..." :continues painting:

I was relaxing on my couch and felt it. It went on for a good 30sec...i was wondering if my house was falling, then realized it was a quake. Second one I've ever felt, the last one was in '93 in greece, weaker than yesterday's
