Lol houston is the nazi germany of street racing. Dallas has expanded to the suburbs where cops deal with it less and are pretty nice about it. I used to race in lewisville and when everyone was parked cops would roll up and hang out with us.

haha totally opposite of my percetpion.. when i went to dallas to the races, they busted out helicopters and ish, i actually got out of a street racing ticket in houston, but i can see where you might think that its gestapo run, what with the whole Kmart/Sonic bust they had last summer at westheimer.. i hear theres gonna be fines for even just spectating now starting in sept.

They just passed a law in cali that if you get caught racing, they take your car forever.

and now a lot of those suburbs are getting shut down. hehe..

Maybe launching a 300whp FWD car isn't too difficult, but let's get up in the 400-500whp (let's say civic) range. Any monkey can drive the car down the track, but can any monkey whip said car into the 10s where it should be?

btw, auto-x is cool. That's what I'm setting my SE-R up for.

I'm kinda partial to road races my self. Not big on drag racing and after spending $1100 on a reckless driving ticket that should have been a street racing conviction, I'm not big on streetracing either.

I quit streetracing after I got caught doing it about a year ago. I had to go to court 3 times to get on deferred. Thankfully the cop that pulled me over didn't take me to jail (he used to work in the mortgage business, and I currently do so we talked about that as I was handcuffed in the back of his car). I guess I got tired of paying $500 every 4 months.

Oh well .. I was young and brash.
