Thanks everyone. I was at the base-wide promotion party earlier...OPEN BAR, DUDE! I left early though so I could Skype my sister back in NJ. Now I'm just getting sauced in my room before I hit the group drink effort.

That is crazy. From my understanding though, the Generals' Review is a rather arduous process, so I can see why a Lt.Col would avoid it and retire.

He's also got a lot of shit going on in his private life. Drama with his ex wife and trying to get full custody of his four kids. His priorities to them trump the Air Force. Plus he's been in since he was 18..
