doesn't it make it, even though it's only a small bit, that much harder to steal if you have to go through the trouble of attaching a tow hook to the bumper. and thanks dakar, i never knew what they were for

I guess it might but you can buy it from any bmw dealer for like $3 :chuckles:

look under the passenger side highbeams follow the line down to the bumper, you'll see a square.
