Default Need help DIY radio install

wtf?
i'm DIY my sony CDX MP80 and all the wires are soldered correctly. and i don't have a radio adaptor but the radio has statics and it works. all the function works except when i play back cd doesn't have sound. the screen shows that its playing but no sound

did you use a color coded wire harness? or did you commando everything and just start clipping the stock radio harness?

Figured it out. BMW uses the blue wire for antenna amp power on as well as the amp power on. Sonys blue is for antenna power on only. So we connected the blue with white and it works.

make sure that none of the wires are exposed ... if you know you soldered everything correctly, return it and get a new deck. i got a sony cd player last year for my mom's car, i had to return it twice because they were bad. i triple checked everything and it was the last resort ... and it really was the deck.

It works fine Rick soldered all the wires and everything is working fine.

It would look okay. since the plastic that surrounds the deck is black and not painted (and you know the wood trim is actually plastic right?)
