Burial-at-sea was to keep with the Islamic tradition of burying w/in 24 hours of death, though the govt tried, they couldn't find a country who would take the body to bury it in time (and prevent al-Queda faction growth there too). So they buried him at sea in the northern Arabian Sea off the coast of Pakistan. Traditions were kept in tact such as the washing of the body and covering with a white sheet. He was placed into a weighted bag shortly after and placed into the waters. The end.

 

that's common practice nowadays. we do it all the time whenever we come across the stuff.

what impresses me the most is the SEALs or whoever it was were only on the ground for a reported 40 minutes. talk about getting in and out in a hurry.
