Yes they're good, yes they can free up ponies, yes they can help idle.

Can you make the same kit at Radio Shack for $15? Yes.

its not as easy as it looks to make your own. most of the kits come with 4gauge wiring. its a baitch to crimp a 4gauge wire without the proper tool.

they are good stuff, esspecially if you have an upgraded stereo. i dont know how many wires are in the kit, but ones i would definitly change are the ones from the battery to the chassis, and the alternator to the chassis. maybe the one from the valve cover to the chassis, since it looks neat. h:

i wouldnt pay more than $30 for a kit. otherwise, i would just make my own.

I made my own new ground wires. Let me esimate the cost, I got 10ft of 8AWG monster cable wire for like $.75/ft at Tweeter, gold ring connectors were like $1.50 each. So realistically it took me say 4 ft tops of wire for new grounds so thats $3, and 4 ring connectors were $6 then. So under $10 to make my own. You could crimp your connectors on but I crimped and soldered mine and heat shrinked them, but the connectors came with the heat shrink. So those kits are worth about $10.

Also if you car is old like mine your ground wires are all gross and corroded so new weather proof wires are .
