VW does it differently. If there's a 'WOB' in the VIN it means it's built in Wolfsburg, Germany and there's something like 'PEB' for Peublo, Mexico.
Basically though, all Jettas sold in the USA are made in Mexico. Some Golfs are made in Germany and some are made in Brazil. I think all of our New Beetles are made in Mexico too, but I'm not sure. Passat, I have no clue.
