Default Cheapest Insurance Company?

My brother got 2 points on his license and now his insurance raised $900, and were not even sure if that is just for 6 months, or a year or what. Geico are huge whores and don't cover shit but always have their hands out. I told my Dad to tell Geico to suck it and we should get cheaper insurance. What are some of the cheapest companies? I heard there were internet based ones that were much cheaper or something.

from my experience, it all seems to vary based on your driving record. insurance companies like to see your 3 year history and base your policy premium off of that. pisses me off too. had a deal set up with an insurance company that was going to be HALF per year of what we're paying now, but they wouldn't accept me onto the policy because i have a ticket for 25mph over from almost 3 years ago still on my record. it's the ONLY speeding ticket on my record still, it's getting ready to drop off, but they're making us wait until it's off the record if i want to be included on the policy. bastards!

actually, it was more than half per year.....we were going to go from paying about $1100/yr for basic liability for 2 drivers on 2 cars down to $500/yr for liability with 3x the payout if we got into an accident.

Geico sucks. we're currently on progressive and our policy is $400/yr cheaper than what Geico quoted us. Allstate isn't too bad, but when i was using them i had a LOT of tickets on my record. start with the big names and work your way from there.

DO NOT USE SAFE AUTO. they are the most ghetto ass non-paying out mo-fos i've ever dealt with. bunch of rat bastards, f'ing useless money taking wh*res.
