from my experience, it all seems to vary based on your driving record. insurance companies like to see your 3 year history and base your policy premium off of that. pisses me off too. had a deal set up with an insurance company that was going to be HALF per year of what we're paying now, but they wouldn't accept me onto the policy because i have a ticket for 25mph over from almost 3 years ago still on my record. it's the ONLY speeding ticket on my record still, it's getting ready to drop off, but they're making us wait until it's off the record if i want to be included on the policy. bastards!
