The "invoice" that most dealers show to customers is not what they actually pay for the thing. It doesn't take into account any factory-to-dealer incentives that are in effect on the car, and those usually exist. Say you want the price on the little invoice sheet. Lowball the **** out of em.

My parents went and test drove an Infiniti FX35 for my mom, not really intending to buy it. The salesman is like, "what would I have to do to put you in the car today" the standard shit. My dad says,

"See that one with the $39k sticker? I'll write you a check for $30k right now."

That shut the guy up.
