what's wrong with you guys?
I don't know what prompted this thread, nor am I aware of any outstanding argument(s).
Before I address the following comments. It's just a given that there is always a feeling of "empowerment" on the side of moderators across forums & a feeling of "fight the power" by members. It's just the way society is.
For the members, and I can think of a handful, they just want to be the "cool guy who stands up to the mods/admins". Plain childish, and I'm almost certain that they only do this on the internet. They won't do this in actual day-to-day life, but the fact that they think they can get away with anything they want, gets us to where we are.
I already voiced my reasoning and if you're still pissy about that situation, then you need to ask yourself why you are "saying" the things you post.
Go to any forum and they will not allow you to promote other similar forums. I got warned on 2 other Honda forums for having HAN in my sig.
For the record, I am confident that no forum will be "competition" for us that isn't already owned by IB.
I agree with everything up to "you will never win here". As much as members would LIKE to think they are the victims, we ALWAYS have a group discussion on policies and incidents on a case by case basis. I've assembled mods based on personality differences so that there is a good balance of judgment.
You, for some reason, have the biggest chip on your shoulder. Yet will never come to me and say as much.
I agree with these sentiments and I argue with this guy all the time.
At first I was reluctant to see old members go, but this is at a point where the "OG" members are so bitter with resentment that we're all better off seeing them gone.
There have been several members who have "acted up" just for the sake of it (because that's what I think is the case) and got dinged, but came back as a positive member. It happens.
No actually you didn't.
Obviously you're stating the obvious, mods are here, voluntarily, to help keep this place in order.
It's simple as that.
You can tell me whatever you want, shirley.

i think promoting pushf5 in a joking manner and getting warned twice for it is unreasonable. its hardly competition, and is more like a place for us to go when HAN is down. well, at least that was the original intention. that place is more dead than here on a bad day if thats even possible.

There has been disagreement between mods and members ever since this forum was branched off OT and before then it was on OT. Even myself had spat with few mods who were overusing their powers, nothing new here.
If you don't like it, you can always go somewhere else, you will never win here.

Don't like it then leave, we owe you nothing and your entitlement ends at the login screen.
I don't agree with all the rules and there are many arguments had behind closed doors from almost every moderator regarding rules, changes and for and against member bannings and points issuances. Everything we do in regards our members has to be answered for and if it is found to be in the wrong then it is reversed, but that is not often the case which means it was not seen as an abuse by the powers that be.
Again you are not even owed this much of an explanation but you have been given it as fair warning that if you step over the line it will bring the smackdown accordingly.

i have to give a +1 to the whole group discussion thing about warnings, bans and points . . . even though i'm not privy to it i've been the subject of it and i know some mods are voices of reason when the offended mod wont be
you guys have to admit, as much bad is said about some of the mods / admins that for the most part they aren't bad and let a lot go for this forum being what it is
fuckin smelson
