you should look at both in person. it's a personal preference really. I prefer LCD picture quality over plasma.

Signing in to tell you to go plasma. They are actually coming down in power consumption (not hear LCD/LED but still lower.) And check out Samsung Plasmas. The panny's are gorgeous, but the newer lots of panny's are actually having black level issues and a couple other problems. I have a 50" Samsung PN50c550 and it is gorgeous! I hate the fake motion of LCD/LED also compared to plasmas.

I can also vouch for the Panasonic plasma. Got a great deal on a 50" last black friday. Try keeping an eye on tigerdirect.com

what about the life span of plasma? I thought they didn't last as long as LCD.

i got my 50" samsung 1080p plasma a year or so ago for i think $1099.

i'm sure you could find something around that much.

LCD's do last longer than plasmas but you are looking at 10+ years. It will be time to upgrade then anyway.

frys wants a card number before they'll show a price. FUCK THEM. and the nearest one is 90 miles away. If I knew I was getting a good deal I'd drive it.
