Calling All Engineers: CNC Build Version 2
I know there are some Web Design guys in here, and I need some help.
A couple of years ago I programmed a plugin to Mach 3 that would generate G-Code to make breaking a CNC in much easier.
I am now looking at making this web based, and I am very fluent in ASP.Net, just not a good designer at all. What I would like to do is take the program and make it into a very easy, seemless to use design for up to a 6 axis machine.
So essentially my requirements are to make the Axis selectable, add the max and min position for the axis, and then add it to a list where it will be used to generate g-code
The list will need to be editable by either selecting a row and clicking a button, or deleted by hitting a button.
Then there needs to be an options section, and a help section, and then a Create G-Code button with validation parameters based on the options chosen.
Appreciate any feedback I can get, I am horrible at designing, and would like to make this look slick

You have to realize the constraints of the software it was programmed in. It uses a VB Script engine with very strict guidelines, very limited graphical implementations, etc.
It was made to be functional, which a defect was never fielded, but the new web based version I would like to make as clean and neat as possible while still being functional

So I have come to the point where the CNC is just to big for the space that it is in. So I either have the option of building a bigger building to house the machine, or making the machine smaller.
Wife won't let me build a building since we are still not fully done with our house and I have been working at my brother's for the last year on his house.
What I am thinking is cutting the base down to 8.5 feet to allow for hard stops, limit switches, etc.
This will allow me to still cut 4x8 and 5x5 sheets with the full vacuum table still intact. What it also allows me to do is take the remaining 4.5 feet of base and make another machine that can sit perpendicular to the current machine, just at the front of the shop.
Biggest difference is new machine will have a 40w laser instead of a milling head.
Lots of options and design things still going around in my head, but I will let you all know more as I do.
