I didn't see..by betray did you mean that the friend would be dead? And in what weird twighlight zone would any of us be in a position to make a choice like that for our country??

I think it is a pretty simple answer, well atleast for me it is. If I have to betray my country to side with my friend, then my friend too is doing something to betray my country. I hope none of my friends ever betray this country, let alone try to influence me to do the same. They will no longer be my friend. I would betray my friend before my country.
