my dad has been smoking for 30 years. he puffs about 1/3 pack a day. i want him to stop.

i was thinking about getting those patches or gums. what kind would you recommend i read up on?

i smoke occasionally, but i can quit at will. i can hold on to a pack long enough to let them go stale

anyway, my pops quit after smoking 30 years, with the help of nicorette. he was cranky as hell, had headaches, and was really unpleasant to be around........but it worked after a month!

I did the patch. Worked well but gives you kind of gnarly dreams if you leave it on at night. Those are actually kind of fun.

the physical nicotine withdrawl is for 72 hours ... anything after that is the mental aspect taking over. smokers get used to putting something to their mouth, so when the smoking ends, they turn to food.

anyhoo ... the best way to go with the patch. it'll take time, but it's worth it.

try having a lung collapse, 3 trips to the hospital in one year

when i got out i was on zyban for a month but it didn't really help me personally that much(it has helped some of my friends alot) i mainly kept poking myself where the chest tube was in my chest and that seemed to be a good deterrent!

I just love paying $8.35/20 pack .At this time it helps my with my stress problem(without going on drugs ).

I quit for a few months but couldn't deal with my stress and panic attacks(i wish i was willing to go onto drugs), so i started again h: .

One day soon i plan on trying again .
