Tarp, rope, ammo and sidearm, variety of knives, basic foods for 3 days survival, water purifier that uses easy to create filtering, 6 stove fuel canisters, jetboil and wool blanket and clothing.
3 days is all you should need to set up a safe camp and find food resources (game, plants etc) if not then you are fucked anyways and may as well use one bullet.

I used to have 3 backpacks with survival equipment (minus any weapons). Over the last decade I've had to go through them and remove stuff that expired and eat food that was about to expire. I never replaced any of it so I don't have anything anymore.
I still have a water purification pump + tabs.

tabs are cheap so i just buy new ones every 3 years or so. better than storing 100 bottles of water in the garage.
