Default We need another Android thread :o

I just picked up my Evo and am ready to download stuff to it

What are some must have apps? (Let's post a name and a description )

Also, anyone have a quick how-to or what-is rooting for this phone?

And finally, how do I tether with this thing :uhhok:

Root -

http://unrevoked.com/#evo

run unrevoked forever, follow directions word for word . . . .

as for tethering if you want through usb cable use pdanet
if you want wifi tethering you can dl wireless tethering once you are rooted (however i never can get it to work that well)

don't worry about that running

and don't use task killers

the way the android OS works is completely different from how you would normally run a PC on windows. Just because apps are "running" doesnt mean they are a battery drain nor a resource hog.

You can google the topic and see many blogs and articles on why not to use one. but basically let me put it this way . . . programs run better and battery lasts LONGER if you DONT use a task killer
