Just want to share my great day. I had a second interview with FMC Energy Systems today for a summer M.E. internship. FMC designs and manufactures oil equipment, basically everything that goes underwater to suck up oil. I thought I had screwed up the interviews b/c I was so nervous but ended up getting a call for an offer an hour later and a specific request from the guy that I interviewed with tp work under his division, a 22 yr. engineer there. I'm so happy right now I could cry ::crying:

 

Cool... wish I had that kind of luck.

does this internship pay?

 

yes, forgot to mention its on a salary basis but it equates to around $20/hr. thats 40hrs/wk. Mostly b/c I have 114 hours in college(they pay by the status you are in college) and they are a private company. How's that for no degree?

 

damn man, thats awesome pay.

that's a $30k job straight out of college. Not bad.

 

Thats actually before I'm out of college. The average M.E. with a B.S. that comes out of UT makes $45k starting salary, at least for the last two years it was like that. Low was $35k and $60k as high. If I get $45k when I get out, I'd be so happy.
