ITRs are teh ghey in this game. massive understeer. good power, but the handling is weak, gotta powerbrake all the time. bleh. I'd rather grip or drift. the GTR is nice, though.

One dude was doing well with his R32, and this other guy kept getting owned while in his R34.

Me... I'll stick with the RX-7s and the Hachi Rokus. I wanna unlock Takumi's Project D Trueno rev to 11k, and have that excellent suspension.

Do you do rocket starts or do you just shift regularly from first to second to third on the start?

anyway i launch by redlining as the clock is ticking down. when i take off i shift at 5k from 1-3 then a little higher for 4-6

 

dooooooooodddd.... rocket start is basically a takeoff that'd make the Levin pass up the fastest car in the game on a normal launch.

Basically... you slam the gas down as hard as you can as the clock is ticking down, then right as it says go, you shift straight to third... or second depending on how fast the car is. I think the Levin can only stand to go into second to be really effective. But in my FD, my normal launch would get me to 60 in about 5 seconds, or so. With a rocket start directly into third, I get to 60 in about 2.5 seconds. It's just a great way to get an early lead. Try it out sometime.

 

i'll have to give that a try sometime. there's this white dood i see there all the time with an evoIV who does that i think. :thinking:

 

don't get me wrong... Since I still have the Civic, I'm all for IRL ass-draggin'. I did some good ones tonight on my way home from the arcade. One especially nice one that I was able to hit a 90 degree street corner doing about 40-45 and recover smoothly. I'm Ryosuke

Yeah. All the folks who play it a lot for good times, and massive upgrades eventually learn the rocket start. It's basically like Mario Kart where you hit the gas at that precise moment when the light turns green and you get a boost.

 

ahhhh!!!! I started a Trueno card... I lost to Shingo even though I made 0 mistakes through the entire course... goddamn slow 86... I need to do time trials to get my points up But I get paid tomorrow

 

In ver. 1 almost everybody was using FC. Now in ver. 2 a lot of people are using the ITR or the EG... :dunno:

I started a new car last week cause me and a friend were downtown with nothing to do. I beat him and some other guys who were there, then decided to stop. I still have like 2$ in tokens too.

I started the Silvia S14.. its pretty good. I am sure I can beat the game with any car though, they arent that much different
