I think they were more useful in 80's import cars and domestics that use bad plastics in the dash. Over exposure to sun and ish would fade and color and promote cracking, and the dashmat was supposed to prevent that I think. (reminds me of a Ae86 someone was selling and he wanted 3k for it and it had a BIG ass split in the dash right down the middle. This was in 99').

Nowadays it seems like only old people and mexicans have dashmats :chuckles:
