They have a reputation for building cars that produce very low emisions. You can't produce all that with FI. Sure they could easily throw turbos on at the factory, but it defeats their mission, and conflicts with there well built reputation. Sure there are some nice sport compacts out there now, and a lot of them are faster than the RSX. On the other hand compare who sells the most of each model. It's all about the $$$ in the end.

honda doesn't turbocharge its mainstream vehicles for two main reasons: environmental concerns and fuel economy.
one of the reasons why VTEC was created was to maximize N/A efficiency.
you youngbucks don't remember, but they even ran an ad for the '93 Prelude VTEC that read "Turbocharger, Schmurbocharger" - explaining VTEC's benefits
