Hmm. So I know I'm paying for the "base service," which is advertised as 6mbps. But I haven't done a speedtest at home in forever. Yesterday I ran a speed test with a direct ethernet connection to the modem and got 16mbps down/ 6mbps up. This morning I just ran a test through my old 802.11g router and I'm getting 12.4/4.3. So maybe I have to revise my statement and give Comcast some props for sneakily upgrading my speed.
