Spec V- I think he meant the Sentra. I haven't driven it, but I sat in one at the dealer and well....for that much money the ITR seems like a better deal.

ohhh, I see now. Sentras are kinda, meh.

I think if I was gonna go for a maxima, I'd wait for the new one. those are pretty sessy, I think.

The one with 2 + 2 seat and the centre bench thingy that runs from the front to the back? I heard they were going to be pretty expensive.

I imagine that if you stuck to simple bolt-ons the tranny on the 2.5RS wouldn't be an issue. You probably wouldn't run into much trouble unless you turbo'd it or started pushing some massive numbers.

i think the major problem with wrx trannys isnt that theyre weak, or even that the engine is too powerful. its that the people driving them are trying to do crazy fast, all-wheel-drive launches. the same thing that contributes to DSM trannys' deaths. when you do that, your not just putting 230 pound feet of torque through the tranny. your putting more like 600 pound feet through it. just dont trash the tranny and youll be fine. even if you get a wrx, i wouldnt worry about it.

just my 2 cents.

preferably none with 8-cyl. motors (we are in a gas price uprising, after all).
just wanted to point out a C5 Z06 gets 19/28 mpg.
the S2000 gets 20/26.
a mazda 6 's' gets 20/27.

V8's aren't neccessarily gas guzzlers :slap:

yeah i agree. you gotta realize that most people that have wrx's dont drive like people that have proteges. AWD launches all the time are gonna kill the tranny no matter how much power its got. If you drive crazy and launch a lot, any car you pick will have a tranny problem.

At the top of my list would be:

1st - WRX
2nd - ITR
3rd - RSX-S
4th- Mazda 6
5th- Protege

ITRs are rare as hell, if you commit to buying one don't be surprised if it takes you a long time to find one in good condition.

What model year range are you looking at?
Any preference as far as fwd, rwd or awd?
