Win 7 upgrade disk allows for a fresh install, it only requires that you have a valid Vista or XP install loaded with you put the disk in.

so what's the benefit of a full install over just an upgrade?

can i make do with just an upgrade, don't really do much tech stuff. and school's offering it for free :shrug:

Benefit would be you don't have to keep a copy of XP disk and key around for the next time you wipe your computer and reinstall windows.
