What are you using it for?

I'm getting into downhill mountain biking so I'm saving up for a ballin' full suspension disc brakes bike.

i ride a lot of trails, nothing extreme. state parks and beaches.

i'd probably ending up swapping in a disc brake setup eventually on this and a newer fork / shock combo down the road.

the CO2 frames on these i've heard GREAT reviews.

Cannondale make awesome frames...I think they are the only big "made in usa" bike company

Anyways...those components are decent for occasional weekend riding on fire roads. It probably wont handle big jumps and bumps too well. But for $200, I would snatch it up.

If youre doing riding on beaches (sidewalks?) and gentle trails...youre probably better off keep the rim brakes. They will bite harder than entry disc brakes. You want to swap over to disc when you ride in wet conditions or extreme downhill.

and yea, i dont do big jumps

i just like trail riding and occasional downhill, very easy downhill at that.

gotcha

i don't ride beaches that often . . .when i say beach i mean like dunes / actual waterside sand. one of our reg yearly trips is to a park where its all compacted trails through dunes and along the waters edge. no sidewalks

i was thinking swapping over to disc for when i ride in the upper peninsula, some of that can get hairy. but if you don't think it's worth it maybe i wont

ohhh...ya. either way, if the rims are getting wet when you ride, you should get disc. and kits are cheap enough as long as your frame and fork support it. when i went from rim brakes to an entry disc brake, i noticed less of an initial bite. but that is not to say that they wont serve you well...because they will.
