Default New RX-8 not making 250 HP.....

Not even close.

Based on the 94-95mph trap speeds the magazines are getting and the 2940 lb. curb weight (C/D), the engine is putting out 226 HP. I have a conversion chart I will try to post..

Looks like Mazda just tried to eclipse Honda's 240 horse S2000 motor--shame on them!

Wait, didn't Mazda try this stunt already with the 2001 Miata?!

The RX-8 is also a rotory engine. They are rated differently if I remember correctly.

i'm not gonna believe you till you give me a video of a pulled rx-8 engine, since teh car isn't even out yet i doubt it's been done

and 1/4 miles aren't about top hp it's about traction and the POWER BAND, not the highest point

I'm talking manufacturers ratings--that's flywheel people. Apples to apples. I would guess WHP to be in the 190s. You watch, I'll be right--that will prove the flywheel raing ain't 250.

I didn't say quarter-mile times I said trap speeds, which are an indicator of HP.
ETs are about traction, especially 0-60.

190 hp off a 250 hp engine would be one of the least effecient transmissions ever

Let's wait and see a dyno chart of a stock rx8 before we start speculating shall we? Just because they are magazine drivers doesn't mean they are the best in the world.
