Default XBox 360 Wireless Signal Problem

My wireless signal always used to be full...no it fluctuates between 1 and 3 bars. Nothing has changed and I can't figure out what is going on. I have spent the past 3 hours messing with my router setting and nothing makes a difference. Netflix used to stream in HD perfectly. Now it takes forever to load and is contently downgrading quality.

I took my laptop downstairs and it gets 4 our of 5 bars (with a wireless n adapter).

I am debating buying the wireless n adapter for the xbox to see if this solves the problem.

What do you guys think? Will the wireless n adapter solve my poor signal problem? Also, any idea why I would have full signal for months and then all the sudden poor signal?

It could be a problem on Netflix's end. Try plugging directly into the internet to see if it fixes the problem.

edit: I just saw you say the bars fluctuated.

so... nvm

my connection used to be terrible.

i moved the whole xbox and extended the wireless adapter to like a foot above the tv, instead of below it and the cable box.

i honestly can't say if that really fixed it, or if there was just a problem with the internet, but it seems alright now.

I have a N router...that is why I was thinking about getting a N adapter.

I wish I could just plug it in but it would be a pain in the ass to run that much ethernet.

I use the wireless N adapter and don't have any problems. My wireless router is 2 rooms away with 3 walls between it and my xbox.
