Yeah, I think I will end up getting the N adapter.

It's still weird that it worked perfectly for several months.

extension cord for the USB adapter. Remove it from the back of the 360 and mount it in the open air.

Came in to post this. That was how I ran mine when it was in the basement man cave. Now I ran Cat6 cable all over the place so I am plugged in no matter what...wireless is for the birds.
