sound card doesn't work...

The play button turns black, but no sound.

check for conflicts in the device manager

if none then unistall the device and make and windows reinstall it

That's what I'm thinking too. I think that I downloaded the driver off of Asus' site. I updated the driver and still no luck.

yes, the optical settings on the discombobulator were 51° œªºÆ╪ over the fluxedness :dunno:.

This may sound dumb, but have you tried pluging your computer speakers into another source to see if the speakers are any good? You could try them with a cd player.

Not dumb at all. But, considering the fact that they worked yesterday morning with my old system would mean that they still do .
