Dude, do you really not eat anything before 5am swimming? Coming off a nights sleep into a 2 hour swim on nothing is pretty intense. Yes, post progressive pics with that regiment because that is nutty.

Ya. I don't eat anything. Sometimes I might eat a fat free yogurt or something if I feel sick, but 90% of the time I don't eat anything. The first 2 weeks it seemed like half way through the swim I was wearing out from lack of food, but I powered through it, and my body must have adjusted, because now it feels perfectly normal to me and I'm not even hungry until after the swim.

I would highly suggest you eat some sort of 'blast' energy to put in your stomach the MINUTE you wake up. I used to be like you dude, didnt think I needed it, but every thing Ive read and seeked info on, clearly states that coming off a morning of sleep PLUS working out on nothing - is NO good for whatever you're trying to achieve, be it weight loss or muscle gain.

Absolutely dude. Or make a 1/2-normal amount protein and fruit smoothie the night before, chill it, and chug that right when you wake up as to let settle slightly before the drive over to the pool. That way its not as heavy as the post protein blast and your body will burn it easily.

what you are currently doing right now, will cause you to lose more muscle mass, you need some type of energy source in the morning before you go swimming.
