dont talk about what you dont know.
i'm not talking about XP home

Would you rather your computer crash every week just to have it reinstalled and crash the next week and have nothing auto. installed for you?

or

Would you rather your computer be completely stable and crash maybe only every other month or less, but have everything automatically install everything for you?
since when is win2k unstable? win2k never crashes on me.

I hear ya. NT4 is the last Windows that I've really been happy with. It's the most stable, and has the cleanest UI. Win2k adds some nice features, but at the expense of needless complexity and less stability. XP keeps going in the wrong direction with more fluffy features and bloated, sucky internals.

I am going to run dual OS's, Redhat and 2k. I like my pc to do what I want it to, XP is Windows going towards the users and not the programmer. There are things about XP that just pisses off the programmer in me.
Tell me about it. How come there never seems to be an API for the stuff that I need to automate? And the command console is a joke, compared to runlevel 2.

dood. stop. seriously just stop typing whatever it is you feel compelled to type about. and please. when you run into future problems with your computer...please for the sake of sanity, do not call any of us at work.....or we'll post it here :exnbp:
