Default wireless networking help!!

what i posted on www.forumnz.com

I've got my Dell Latitude CPx p3 with XP Pro installed and now I want to access my home DSL wirelessly... I know I need a wireless card, and an access point for my current router.

My Q is what should I look at for a wireless network card for this particular notebook and/or does anyone know of a god FAQ for this type of thing.. thx!!

I am assuming you'll be using 802.11b cards and WAP's? Linksys is not too bad.

.11b is more popular .11a is faster. Your choice.

Linksys promotes that .11a gets about twice the distance as .11b.... of course it's not a standard yet, I don't think, so they might have changed that

you mean 54g not 11a right?

11a is a standard. 11g is not yet finalized. linksys came up with 54g. or maybe a few companies in the industry did.
