Why, as much as you seem to love to post about anything and everything, would you wait THREE months after the server was apparently restored to register again.
I could really care less that you "know your way around the net." Maybe you should reevaluate your life. I don't care that you own a GS400 or Silverado, it doesn't make you better than anyone here. I don't care that you are a network administrator. Been building computers since you were little? Good for you bro, here's a cookie. We don't make fun of every n00b on the site, we make fun of the ones like you saw here. Trying to put up a front and blindly lying through their teeth to try and seem cool. We can see right through them. We do not tolerate lying from anyone. Even if he wasn't a n00b, we would have done the same thing.
You want to adjust valve timing? You mean do a valve adjustment. Here's a start, get a manual. It'll save you a lot of headaches, and it's got pictures to show you how. Wouldn't want you to get confused now would we, n00b!

I don't own an Accord, I have a GS400 and Silverado... my g/f has the Accord and I just came on here to ask how to adjust the valve timing, to which nobody could even answer. Yet you people spend this much time whoring and trolling around trying to boost your post count so you can feel even more self-righteous in calling everyone "newbs" on a damned internet message board.
I'm a network administrator by career. I have more computer certifications than your mother has teeth. I've been building computers since early elemetary school. Believe me, just because my "registered" date is more recent than yours and my post count isn't rediculously high due to worthless posts... doesn't mean I don't know my way around the net or that your message board here somehow confuses me more than any other board on the net.
Get over the "noob" kick. If trying to make fun of people who's register date is newer than yours is what you have to do to get your rocks off... maybe you should reevaluate your life?

A) I don't even own a Honda so I have no reason to be a regularly participating member of this board
and
B) I do computers for a career, I've been designing web sites and web servers before most of the people on this forum even knew what AOL was.
...is trivial?
Come on, now.

So don't peg me as one of those flame-starting domestic humpers that lumps you all together as a bunch of "rice boys" with stickers and fart cans.
There are PLENTY of people on this forum that ARE like that, but I'm not niave enough to think that everyone here is like that.
At my local drag strip it seems like maybe 4 out of 5 "riced out" Hondas that I see run 16-20 second ETs. The other 1 out of 5 run anywhere from high 11s to high 15s. So yeah those high 11- low 14 second Hondas, although rare, would definitely make me their b!tch... my car is stock, I don't try to pretend its fast. I bought it for the quality and luxury. If I wanted speed and nothing else I would have saved myself a ton of money and bought a Z28.
What I said or what I was trying to say is that by the way you guys are posting you really don't help dimish the aforementioned stereotype that most domestic and european guys have of you. Not sure if you care... but just thought I'd mention it.

you want to get a valve adjustment done? then ask for it with the proper name. you want to adjust the cams? get an adjustable cam gear for that single cam then.

Imagine how quickly I'd keep my job if everyone that asked me for help I just told "RTFM"... that kind of defeats the purpose of my job as technical resource for employees.
yeah and? go get a cookie from your mom then.

its not every noob. its just idiots as dubster pointed out. assimo aka dragin4queers wasnt even a noob. he was just an idiot that made a half assed attempt at trying to redeem himself by bullshitting and failed. dont get your panties in a bunch just cuz someone called you a noob.

Then at the end of your statement you contradict yourself by admitting that this thread's initial statement was a generalization directed at me and anyone else along the same lines.

I'm probably one of the least biased people I know in terms of my appreciation for cars, I've owned a little of everything, and my favorite cars range from all sorts of domestics to japanese to european cars.

I had a brain fart, I know the proper name, and a few weeks ago I asked for it by the proper name. But all I got was advice like the guy that posted before you "buy a manual". Sure! Then what was the point of this forum, again?

Imagine how quickly I'd keep my job if everyone that asked me for help I just told "RTFM"... that kind of defeats the purpose of my job as technical resource for employees.
Been a while since I've heard something that corny.

Threxx: It's not about how many posts you have your your post count at all. dliske and Teg711 are perfect examples of this. I apologize if you were offended by anything. Possibly being new to the board, what was going on either disturbed or confused you. Quite honestly this is "The Basement," and is intended to be used as such, a place for crap. I'm sorry about not being able to find out how to do a valve adjustment, have you tried the how-to forum? I believe that there is stuff for Civic's, if not, I can try and get you the instructions on how to do so.
Enjoy your stay man, we are all enthusiasts here, no need to make things 'trivial'
