Why, as much as you seem to love to post about anything and everything, would you wait THREE months after the server was apparently restored to register again.

You want to adjust valve timing? You mean do a valve adjustment. Here's a start, get a manual. It'll save you a lot of headaches, and it's got pictures to show you how. Wouldn't want you to get confused now would we, n00b!

you want to get a valve adjustment done? then ask for it with the proper name. you want to adjust the cams? get an adjustable cam gear for that single cam then.

LMAO... people run around this board talking down to "newbs" because of their registered date and/or post count... and that's not trivial. Yet somehow telling you that
A) I don't even own a Honda so I have no reason to be a regularly participating member of this board
and
B) I do computers for a career, I've been designing web sites and web servers before most of the people on this forum even knew what AOL was.

I'm sure you can list plenty of people here that would make me their b!tch. I'm not here to argue the speed of cars. I'm probably one of the least biased people I know in terms of my appreciation for cars, I've owned a little of everything, and my favorite cars range from all sorts of domestics to japanese to european cars.
So don't peg me as one of those flame-starting domestic humpers that lumps you all together as a bunch of "rice boys" with stickers and fart cans.
There are PLENTY of people on this forum that ARE like that, but I'm not niave enough to think that everyone here is like that.
At my local drag strip it seems like maybe 4 out of 5 "riced out" Hondas that I see run 16-20 second ETs. The other 1 out of 5 run anywhere from high 11s to high 15s. So yeah those high 11- low 14 second Hondas, although rare, would definitely make me their b!tch... my car is stock, I don't try to pretend its fast. I bought it for the quality and luxury. If I wanted speed and nothing else I would have saved myself a ton of money and bought a Z28.
What I said or what I was trying to say is that by the way you guys are posting you really don't help dimish the aforementioned stereotype that most domestic and european guys have of you. Not sure if you care... but just thought I'd mention it.

I had a brain fart, I know the proper name, and a few weeks ago I asked for it by the proper name. But all I got was advice like the guy that posted before you "buy a manual". Sure! Then what was the point of this forum, again?

Isn't that sweet? I made a valid objective arguement as to why it's dumb to classify everyone as "noobs" with a negative connotation. Then first you tell me it's not every "noob" even though this entire thread was directed at all "noobs" in general, not one or two specific ones. Then at the end of your statement you contradict yourself by admitting that this thread's initial statement was a generalization directed at me and anyone else along the same lines.

although this thread when i made it as joke wasnt directed to EVERY SINGLE noob out there. i didnt feel like typing each one's name out, so i just put "noob" because if youve been here at the time i made this thread, it was only for a couple noobs that were acting stupid and lame. and you may know computers, but you need to work on your reading comprehension. i did not contradict myself by admitting this thread's initial statement was directed towards YOU. heck, where did i even mention the initial intent of this thread in my last reply?! i said what i said last because it seemed like you got defensive and decided to post this long rant of yours just because someone called you a noob. hence, "dont get your panties in a bunch just cuz someone called you a noob."

 

Threxx: It's not about how many posts you have your your post count at all. dliske and Teg711 are perfect examples of this. I apologize if you were offended by anything. Possibly being new to the board, what was going on either disturbed or confused you. Quite honestly this is "The Basement," and is intended to be used as such, a place for crap. I'm sorry about not being able to find out how to do a valve adjustment, have you tried the how-to forum? I believe that there is stuff for Civic's, if not, I can try and get you the instructions on how to do so.
