Not sure why but I have always liked the Alice in Wonderland story. I have seen every version on film, read all the books and numerous variants of the story and almost always enjoyed them, but this new movie was...well it was not at all worth the wait sadly.

It is entertaining but the story follows portions of Looking Glass and portions of Wonderland with a bit of American McGee's Alice tossed in for seasoning.

It just didn't feel like a complete story at all and character development was...well it was crap.

I normally like Burton and his creations but this one fails IMO.

 

I'm passing on it.

 

yeah, i found it entertaining but i figured a lot of Alice fans would feel :hs: about it all

 

Burton is overrated.

his stuff is hit or miss with me...most of it sucks. but a few I thought were fantastic.

 

gf loves tim burton, depp, and AIW, she thought the movie was meh
plot was uninvolved, characters were boring, even mad hatter was weak, red queen was only decent character in whole story IMO
there wasnt any musical element to this movie, which is strange for a burton, and it may have really helped this movie, it seemed to miss life and joyfulness, even though it is supposed to be kind of dark its still a fun story and it missed that element
i hate musicals though so i wasnt real upset about it h:
