political viewpoints aside ...
does this comment scare you guys as much as it does me ...
i don't understand how someone could approve making something a law when the law isn't even finalized and written and no one knows what exactly is in it. isn't that like signing a contract without the details? like oh ok sign this contract for you to buy this car but don't worry i'll just put the payment details in later ... someone please explain
i'm not trying to make this a dem vs gop issue or a healthcare issue. the comment just doesnt make sense to me. you're told to ALWAYS read every contract you sign, aren't laws the same way?
Pelosi suggested to the National Association of Counties that the bill must be passed before the details are all sorted out.
"We have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it, away from the fog of the controversy," she told local executives.

to me?
or to the quote?
i really dont get it ... like isnt once the bill is signed into law its a law? wouldnt they have to create a NEW bill to change the old bill? so wouldnt it be easier to hammer out all the details BEFORE you sign into law. wouldnt that be the more cost-effective answer

there's the article it was in
but should it matter?
i mean that sentence speaks for itself no? why do you have to pass something to find out what's in it?
shouldnt you KNOW what's in it before you vote for it?
but then i guess majority of americans vote for their elected leaders without knowing anything about them
