WOW!
despite making the most money in the world for a movie, it walks with only 2 awards...whereas Hurt Locker walked with 5
Actually it took 3. Art Direction, Cinematography and Special Effects... not surprisingly.

I'm kind of bummed District 9 didn't win anything. That was one of the best movies of the year... hell, of the decade.

Yeah that was kind of my reaction too. I saw it once in theaters and at the time I probably would have given it an 8/10 at best... maybe I'll give it another chance? h:

Admittedly, Avatar has a fairly common story and it's character development and dialogue could have been a little better... but seeing that movie in theaters really was an awesome experience. If a movie can make feel that kind of excitement while watching it, it should probably be winning the best awards. But.. I'm sure James Cameron will get over it while he's counting his millions.

Pretty weak set of best films this year. None of them were clear winners. On some years, The Hurt Locker wouldn't have even been nominated. Just the way it goes, I guess.

Inglorious Basterds has a great villain, suspense and dialogue... but everything else was pretty meh.
