I just went back and found the Jay Cutler trade thread last year... here are the highlights:

This is putting the Bears into the situation of having to buy players now. I'm very curious to how this will all play out. Heavy rumor is that Orlando Pace will be in Chicago for a pre-contract physical soon.

The Bears' GM can't draft in the 1st round to save his life. This isn't so bad actually.

Also, based on last year's records, Chicago has the easiest schedule in the NFC. You can easily see this team back in the playoffs.

Last thought, Cutler has a massive arm. Defenses cannot load 8 in the box anymore. You will see a more productive and less banged up Forte too.

As a life-long Bears fan ... I cannot believe this team has a "franchise" quarterback. Like the Cubs winning the World Series, it's one of those things I never expect to see.

For the record, they finished 3rd in their division, and it wasn't even close

I guess the Ravens, Cheifs and Pats are in the running for Boldin. as much as I'd love to see him go to the pats, he'd be a better fit with the other two teams in the running.

Is there ever a sports thread where you don't talk about your own team?

The drafting is awful. Since the GM's reign, he's drafted 0 offensive probowlers.

The internal talent analysis is shitty too. The Bears have the ability to over-value their own guys and give them unnecessary money (Urlacher).

He could, but there's no body to take his DB spot. He's not bad at all, but I fear for who would have to cover #1 WR's.

I know, Just he isnt really a very good pass coverage job at DB most of his work has been after a catch has been made... I was scared shitless everytime we played a team with a #1 WR thats actually good, most those guys were running all over us

I'm semi-worried that the iggles FO has only released players. happy we resigned weave. was hoping for dansby or maybe kampman now for semi-cheap. anyways, i have faith in the FO and that they'll get some stuff done soon enough. it's only been the first 24 hrs of FA anyways...

Hmmm...that would be interesting. He is leaving a passing team...I would think he would want to transfer to a running team. Saints love vertical play.
