The satellite photos and tapped phone conversations that Powell presented to the U.N. in Feb. don't lie. They showed how sneaky the damn Iraqis were to begin with..... as weapons inspectors were entering the front door, the chemicals were exiting the back door. You bet they hid them in places it may take months of interrogations of high ranking Iraqi officials to find where they put them. But the question of whether or not they exist is a moot point. They do, and when we get them we will destroy them. No matter how long it takes. If it takes 2 years, so be it. I laugh at some people..... its only been two months since we invaded and they expect to find every last piece of WMD in a day. It'll take more than geiger counters and the smell of toxins in the air to find this stuff.

Actually the point of this thread is that nobody has found the evidence that Bush and Powell swore that they had. That "smoking gun" excuse was used to justify the war. Now it's obvious that they did not have that evidence. That means that they lied to us, and to Congress.

When Clinton lied to Congress, he was impeached. And that was about a private matter! What Bush did is clearly grounds for impeachment, and possibly criminal prosecution. That's a very serious matter.

I'm sick and tired of all of the misdirection, pointing at Saddam as if he's the only problem that exists on earth. As an American, I'm far more concerned that my country doesn't become a fascist dictatorship. And that means holding American leadership responsible when they do wrong.

SNL

We have been in Iraq for a little under two months. I have no doubts that we will find WMD in Iraq...it is simply a matter of time.

There were also other reasons you fail to aknowledge for us to go to war with Iraq and get rid of Saddam Hussein and his regime. WMD was only one reason.

And before you go off on an impeachment tangent with severely circumstantial and hersay evidence concocted into a left wing conspiracy theory there are HUGE differences between Bill Clinton blatantly lying to the American people and Congress as opposed to Colin Powell saying we have a smoking gun at the UN. And just so you know the Senate and House intelligence committees both agreed with the Bush administration that we had such evidence. Pretty tough to push through articles of impeachment when the people who vote to impeach you agree with you.

Just because you do not agree with Bush's actions does not mean he stands grounds for impeachment and possible criminal prosecution. You represent the far left in this country which is clearly in the extreme minority.

Clinton was impeached? I must've missed that one, you almost had an intelligent statement.

Yes Clinton has the distinct honor of being such a good President he got himself impeached! The Democrats would not vote enough to remove him from office though where you need a 2/3 majority. Being impeached does not mean you are automatically removed from office. That is a seperate vote in itself.

:chuckles: But I remember hearing on the news that they actually found a truck full of chemical weapons, not WMD, but chemical weapons.

Thank god your views are not in the majority or else we would have a fascist dictatorship. Bush has done nothing but bring respect back to the White House, keep his word, and effectively hold this country together tighter than ever. The chemicals will be found. There was proof back in 1998, there was proof in Feb. of this year, and there will be chemicals found. They aren't gonna find them over night, you know. As for Bush being a criminal, that's the most pathetic, cheap skate accusation I've ever heard. I think everyone had their doubts about him when he was elected, but he has proven to be exactly what this country needs at this time. You should be thankfull for him. Ah, I forgot. Liberals aren't thankfull. Just selfish.
