Default I need to ship 4 wheels and tires (mounted)

Please help.

Keep in mind, I have very little packing supplies at home, so lets just assume I have to buy everything.

I'm told/read that it should be around 100-150 to ship 4 wheels via UPS...if I go to a distribution center directly. Going to a UPS store I hear it can cost $250.

Any advice on what packing supplies I can get for cheap? I'm planning on shipping the wheels/tires without air, and in 4 separate boxes.

Boxes that are strong enough to hold wheels/tires aren't cheap. Your best bet is to ship them in pairs, faces of the wheels inward, with a couple layers of cardboard separating them...then strap them together. Either that or do it the way tirerack does:

Putting them in boxes is unnecessary IMO.

What's going to puncture them during shipping? There's no load on them.

That won't do anything to them.

Just cover up the surface of the wheel with a thick cardboard. Be sure to let the air out the tires. Itll be lighter
