Well I know a couple people within the industry that have already drawn up proposals to be submitted later this year for the build of the trains and steel for the rails...they are US based companies.
So what I know to be true is different than your article claims. This is not to say it won't see money going outside the borders at all, but there are capable companies within our borders to make this happen.

I'm talking about the trains themselfs... but the rails, depot, stops, all that stuff can be American built. But the high speed train industry is usually controlled by a couple of manufactures. If i was you and had some insider info like that... you should buy shares of the manufacture you know. History shows that when even the Bombardier signs new contracts the share prices rise more then they should

i will have to ask my mom (works for public transit sector ODOT) whats up
i remember some of the trains she showed me that they were thinking of contracting, pretty badass, crazy price though, they were going to bring in a manufacturing plant to NW and then try to contract out to other states as well as i recall, but maybe thats all changed now :thinking:
