So I'm thinking Hyundai
to me it's an imitation of the G that went bad (g37 front is not good looking imo)
i was actually talking bout the 09 128 though
similar performance w/ this hyundai
370z or even WRX would eat that thing alive. And, not be a hyndai
You could probably get a Lancer Ralliart for that price, it has way, way more potential.
Why not buy an 08 Evo or STi? Find one on ebay still has warranty and everything.

I haven't thought about used EVO or STI. Proll because they're 4DR and/or potentially got beat up by previous owners badly.
I still have my G35 (currently going under some surgery and more :rockon
, H22 Accord, and the 350z for my Lady's DD.
Ralliart engine is very very very similar to this. I do like the 5-door hatch body style but if I lived somewhere that doesn't get snow I'd take a look at the Genesis Coupe for sure. I haven't driven one of these so can't comment on the handling. But if the 1-series is the point of comparison, those IMHO is too tall and narrow and very meh to drive, even the 135i with sport package.
So the past couple days, I've been doing major reading and research on the Genesis Coupe 2.0T. And here's what I found out.
The internal isn't "as strong" as I'd favor. I was hoping that it can handle 400whp easily without breaking a sweat. And it seems like that's the "limit".
OEM turbo setup is a joke.
Full turbo upgrades cost as much as 7-8K.
So after going over the "math", I come up to:
$25K for a new 2.0T Track
$2K for suspension & Handling upgrades (coilovers, brake lines, sway bars, pads, etc).
$8K Complete Turbo upgrade
= $35K right there just for ~350whp with stock internals.
So is it really worth it for a DD/track use? For the similar amount, I can get a used 07-08 350z (HR motor) + Twin Turbo + Coilovers + Stoptech and can break 450-500whp easily.
That's really got me "split" between the decisions.
I absolutely LOVEEEEEEEE the GC and the layout, but given the market is "currently rare" with the high prices AND the weak internals (for current version 2.0T), that's a turn off.
I guess I will wait a little longer before I decide what course to take.

why aren't you considering the spec-r? its got the track pack but minus all the luxury stuff like premium stereo, gps, and HIDs.
they had a track event here a few months ago and I got to do a hot lap in the 2.0T track package, and the V6. the 4cyl is a really nice car and I thought it was a blast to drive and think its a great value for the price. the handling is nice out of the box, but it does have a slight understeer feel but there are some many things that can be corrected with some aftermarket mods. I'd seriously consider getting one now after the test drive I went on. it was a blast.
