Is there any history of someone using the burqa to hide their identity while comiting a crime? I truelly dont know but i've never heard of the Burqa being used as a disguise for criminal activities.

Plus Sarkozy did not use that as an excuse because he knows its non-sense.
uhhhhhhh there's numerous cases of suicide bombers dressing up in these disguises as well as cases where men escaped by dressing up this way.

a hat or sunglasses arent even in the same category

I disagree... I think that it's not easy to diguise yourself wearing a burqa instead of any other disguise. And for someone who preaches freedom i'm shocked to see that you think a government has the right to tell you what to wear or what to not wear

it's not a matter of what you can and can't wear. it's a matter of security. i have no problem if the govt says hey look you cant wear these in schools or in any govt building because it completely hides your identity.

and you can disagree all you want, its happened in iraq, afghanistan and pakistan on multiple occasions.

there's all kinds of countries who require women to wear such clothing, i dont hear you bitching about them imposing laws like that on the women without choice.

sounds like hypocrisy to me tark

that's everywhere bro. Both Shanghai and Beijing have whole muslim areas. Usually very safe, no drugs, and awesome noodles :yum:

a suicide bomber is not likely to be deterred by fashion police.

I never agreed with forcing women to wear the Burqa

And even if it was for security reasons(and i know you know that in France it's not for security reasons) you're still giving the .gov the right to tell you what to wear or what to not wear all in the name of security. That's like a .gov banning all gun based on security. Guns are used in crime all the time right? Who's the hypocriticizer now?

my wife is muslim, and if i told her to wear a burqa, she would punch me in the face

She's European though, not middle eastern. A lot of that kind of crap is actually not religious, it's cultural.

and it's not just with muslims... In a lot of the major cities you have the Italians, indian, jewish, chinese people that setup there oen little area. Shit in some chinatown even the street names are written in cantonese. Do i agree with these "getthos"? NO but it is their right (if imigrated legally) to come and setup there comunities and not "integrate" with the rest of the population. Eventually the future generations will. I dont beleive integration is something we should try to acheive over night.
