Default Xbox 360 v.Wireless help

So I'm getting an xbox for xmas. I'm trying to figure out how to set it up for internet. The main router is downstairs, I can't run an ethernet cable up here for it. Without buying one of the 100 dollar wireless cards specifically for the xbox, what can I do?
I have a wireless router(Actually 2) that aren't being used. What 3rd party firmware would let me connect to a wireless signal, then send it out over ethernet?

It's pretty cheap now. I don't know of any 3rd party but even computer wifi cards are not a lot cheaper.

There are 2 "360" adapters.
- NEW - Wireless N, G, B, A - Black - $90
- DISCONTINUED, might be on clearance - Wireless G, B, A - White

You can also use a "gaming" adapter ... basically, a wireless puck that goes through the cat-5 jack on the back. I'm currently using a Wireless-G, Xbox 1 adapter on my 360. The Xbox 1 adapters are waaaaaaaaaaaay cheaper.

I have 2 WRT54G routers running DDWRT.

One is in my living room in client mode and my XBOX and DVR are connected. The other is serving my wireless connection.

In short, DDWRT can do what you're wanting if you have compatible routers.

I had a XBOX1 adapter, but am giving it to my Brother-in-law since I set up DDWRT Client Bridge on one. One disadvantage to running the XBOX1 adapter is that you can only run WEP Encryption.

Flash the spare router with DD-WRT and configure it as a wireless bridge. Then simply run Ethernet cable from the xbox to the router.

I'm using this method now.
