Too bad it's not like in Japan where you can make like bajillion color combos: http://www.camera-pentax.jp/k-x/#/simulator/120101
really? b&h has them all for the same price, $649

and OH MY SEX!!! srsly i would love if canon came out with a colored body, the standard black is sexy and all but srsly the combos i would make with white, yellow, red ect.. would fit my shooting style nicely.

Yeah $100 extra gets you either the 55-200 or a color. Neither of which I feel like paying $100 for. I bought the base black 18-55 kit for $513 after the discounts. That free sling bag looks pretty sweet actually:

Well, maybe not the waist band part. That looks like some kind of overgrown fanny pack. It will join my 3 other camera bags I've collected over the years. h:

We'll see how quickly I go for the Tamron 17-50. There's one of the Vivitar 55/2.8 macros on ebay right now that ends Friday so that's my next move.

I'm also trying to resist the urge to buy some kind of less-shitty-in-low-light p&s for NYE because I don't have anything like that right now either. Damn camera addiction!!!!

It's not the lens. He has lighting.

BTW here's the workaround for the AF points.

This is the finder view:

The points aren't there but the grid lines show outlines of where the AF area is. Comine that with this is the screen that comes up when you press the Green Button (customizable button by the shutter) set to Center AF Point:

So basically while there are no dots in the finder itself, it's pretty easy to picture where the sensors are. You press the Green Button, it resets to the center point, you press a couple arrow keys to pick your point, and you're done. If you get lost, you can either look on the LCD to see which point, or press the Green Button again to start over.

Alternatively you can set it to only use the center point, or auto-select from either all 11 points, or the center point point plus up/down/left/right of it. I figure most of the time I'd pick my point, but for using AF tracking use one of the auto-select options.

Overall not too bad, the blinky AF point markers would be better but I did a lot of thinking about it and I figure this is doable.

Not a fan of sling bags.

P its pretty much the same lens, mine just goes wider and less zoom.

Lol its funny how u can change iso on the fly but need to take ur eye out of the view finder to see which focus point your on. Still would be a deal breaker for me, but if it works for you that's ll the matters. Did you pull the trigger yet?
