Default Home Theater peeps

how is this combo?

http://signature.crutchfield.com/s_7...tive+800&ssi=0

Definitive ProCinema 800 + Denon AVR-2310CI

I like the specs on the Denon and I've wanted Definitive for a long while (8years) but can't afford their excellent BP series. I plan on going into a local shop and listening to the 800 this weekend.

Thought, comments?

I plan on adding a motorized screen and a projector (ceiling mount).

I've heard nothing but good things about Denon receivers. I haven't heard those speakers though, so I can't comment.

I own all DefTech BP series, with the Supercube sub. I love them, just make sure you set them up right since they are bipolar.

If it were me, I would say save money on the screen spend it on speakers. Denon has always been decent stuff, I like sony too.

Right now I have about 1k budget for screen and 2-3K for speakers (not counting amp). Figure another $500-800 for cabling and attachments and all that other shit.

its good stuff rick i am not sure about the pricing though. i am sure if you go somewhere that sells denon and the speakers you can probably get a good deal on them as well. if i still worked for bby i could see the price of the denon but i can't :/

That is a nice setup, however, I'd prefer something different.

For start, how big is your room and how far is the sitting/viewing area?

For AV Receiver, I'd strongly suggest the Pioneer VSX-1019AH-K. Definitely best bang for the buck that's on par, if not, better than the Denon listed. Think of it as the "baby-Elite" series. I've tested it along with other Elite series and it's definitely up there. Otherwise, with that money, I'd look into the THX Certified Receiver (Pioneer Elite Setup).

As for speakers, if you have enough room (which I assume so since you'll be using projector & screen), spend on some good quality front stage towers and centers.
