nad i checked the price for the tucson... brand new 4WD is Starting At $28,795.00. way too mouch.

yeah i know... but they look great and the interior are way better then anything else in those prices IMO.

Run the hell away from the Freelander. Anything that doesn't leak a fluid will break outright.
A used CRV seems like the safest bet IMO.

yeah i'm not getting a freelander.

The CRVs are still expensive though. I'd have to go with a 2005 to get it under 15K

what about the Xtrail?

We never got the XTrail down here.
So I've got nothing to say about it. h:

A 2005 wouldn't be the end of the world IMO.
Nearly the same drivetrain and suspension as an '09.
And compared to the V6 competitors, the CRV will be reasonably fuel-efficient.

I'll check it out... for some reason i have a preconception that the Small import SUVs are very effeminacy .

The only reason i want a suv is for the snow. I park my car in the street and you can imagine how much my life would be easier if my car could just roll out on a snow bank.
